By David Boehrer | Posted on November 30, 2015

A car crash on state route 160 in Pahrump left one woman deceased and another one in critical condition. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the car collision happened in early October near the highway’s intersection near Bell Vista Avenue.

The driver of a Ford Excursion was traveling on route 160 when a northbound Hyundai turned left onto Bell Vista and crossed paths with the Ford. Then Ford struck the passenger side of the Hyundai which had five occupants, two men, two women and a male juvenile.

One of the women in the van passed away at the scene, while seven others were transported to a local hospital in Pahrump with minor injuries.

Car Accidents and Statue of Limitations in Nevada

Nevada towns and cities can be busy traffic hubs. Residents commute to and from work daily, taxis flood the streets, and tourists drive through unfamiliar routes. With all this traffic, accidents are not uncommon.

Car accidents can occur as a result of:

  • Drunk driving
  • Excessive speed
  • Cell phone use
  • Poor weather conditions
  • Poor eyesight
  • Lack of wearing a seat belt
  • Improper training

What to Do If You Are a Victim of a Car Accident

If you’ve been involved in a car accident, you need to seek medical attention as soon as you can. Notifying the police of the incident should be the next step.

Remember to keep copies of all medical bills and receipts for treatment as they are used as evidence in car accident cases. Having photos of the scene and obtaining a copy of the police report can help you with the case.

Notify your insurance company as soon as possible, as most insurance companies have strict procedures regarding filing a car accident claim.

Insurance companies can be cunning, and they try to settle cases cheaply and quickly, often without considering the particular facts pertaining to the case. At David Boehrer Law, our attorneys are experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to handling insurance companies. We are persuasive when it comes to negotiating a fair settlement on behalf of our clients. Should we not be able to reach a favorable settlement, we fight for our client’s rights in the court of law.
